Wager Types

There are a number of different wagers you can choose when wagering. All of these variations stem from one core premise: Bettors receive payouts based on the first, second, third and fourth place finishers. In racing terms, the first three finishers are termed Win, Place and Show.

Note: Available wager types vary depending on the individual track's offerings.

• Win — You win by selecting the contestant to finish first (to win)
• Place — You win by selecting the contestant to finish first or second (to place)
• Show — You win by selecting the contestant to finish first, second or third (to show)
• Win, Place and Show (or Across the board) — You win by selecting the contestant to Win, Place, and Show. This is a combination bet consisting of a win, a place and a show bet (three bets in total). If your horse wins, you receive Win, Place, and Show payouts. If your horse finishes second, you receive Place and Show payouts. If your horse is third, you receive the Show payout. This can also include any two or three horse combination of win, place and show bets, i.e., win/show, win/place, place/show, etc.
• Quinella — You win by selecting the first two finishers, irrespective of order, for a single contest
• Exacta — You win by selecting the first two finishers, in their exact order, for a single contest
• Trifecta — You win by selecting the first three finishers, in their exact order, for a single contest
• Superfecta — You win by selecting the first four finishers, in their exact order, for a single contest
• Daily Double — You win by selecting the first place finisher in each of two specified contests
• Pick–N (where N is 3 or 4) — You win by selecting the first place finisher in each of a designated number of contests
